The author's debut novel. Nominated for the 1979 Hugo Award for 'Best Novel'. Tiptree Jr. is the pseudonym of American psychologist and multi award-winning author Alice Bradley Sheldon (1915-1987). Recognised as 'Tiptree' for ten years until her exposure in 1977, Sheldon's literary career has been widely discussed and analysed for the prevalent themes of identity, sexuality, feminist depictions of male/female relationships, and death, found across her body of work.
