UNDER WESTERN EYES

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine. No dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping at the spine tips. One of Conrad's major novels, 'Under Western Eyes' explores democracy and revolution in Russia at the turn of the 20th century, and is often seen as a response to Fyodor Dostoevsky's 'Crime and Punishment'. The first printing was published in an edition of 3000 copies.
