THE RED BOX. A Nero Wolfe Mystery.

First edition in book form, first printing. Hardcover. Publisher's original grey cloth with red titles to the upper board and spine, without the scarce dustwrapper. Top edge dark red. Deckled fore-edge. Publisher's device on the copyright page, as called for. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little wear to the spine tips and extremities, the cloth, lightly marked and with a light cup ring to the lower board. The contents, with some offsetting to the endpapers and the occasional foxing spot to the page gutters and margins, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The closed text block is lightly toned.

The fourth Nero Wolfe novel, originally serialised in five issues of 'The American Magazine' from December 1936 through April 1937. The UK first edition, published by Cassell and Company followed later the same year. (Hubin).
