Limited edition. Signed by the author. Original grey cloth with silver titles to the spine, in the Dominic Harman illustrated dustwrapper. Textured endpapers. A near fine copy, the binding square and tight, with some rubbing and a small bump to the spine tips, and with two small brown marks to the extreme bottom edge of the boards. The text block has a little spotting to the top edge, and a small mark to the bottom edge. The contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the fine original dustwrapper, which is bright and fresh, with a small crease to the tail of the spine, and without fading, loss, or tears. Not price-clipped ($60 on the front flap).

Issued in a limited edition of 500 copies, this example is numbered 338 and signed by L. E. Modesitt Jr. in black ink on the limitation page. The first book in the epic 'The Saga of Recluce' fantasy series, first published in 1991.
