Deckled fore-edge. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth lightly spotted and a little bumped at the tips of the lightly toned spine. The contents, with some spotting to the endpapers, and closed text block edge, are otherwise clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the good, somewhat spotted, rubbed and nicked dustwrapper, which is chipped at the tips of the worn and creased spine. Not price-clipped ($2.95 to the upper front flap).
Signed by Poul Anderson in blue ink on the title page. A science fiction satire depicting the unexpected first contact between a troop of medieval English soldiers and a scouting party of aliens from the Wersgorix Empire after they land in northeastern Lincolnshire. The novel was nominated for the 1961 Hugo Award, and formed the basis for the 1994 film of the same name, directed by Klaus Knoesel and Holger Neuhauser and starring John Rhys-Davies.
