First edition with these illustrations. Deluxe issue. Publisher's full vellum, elaborately decorated and with titles in gilt to the upper board and spine. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed, as issued. Red silk ribbon page marker detached and loosely laid in. With a tissue-guarded colour frontispiece, illustrated title page, seven full page colour plates and a further ten black and white illustrations throughout the text by C. E. Brock. A better than very good copy, the binding firm with a little bowing at the board edges, the vellum with a little natural patina and light toning to the spine. The contents, somewhat foxed to the prelims and with a previous owner's name in black ink on the front endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. The plate facing page 168 has a tiny nick and a small closed tear to the fore-edge margin, and a couple of page edges have short closed tears from being opened.
A beautifully illustrated edition of Dicken's fifth and final Christmas book, in the publisher's deluxe binding.
