First edition, first printing. Signed by the author Walter Lewis Emanuel to the illustrator Sidney Sime. Original beige cloth with titles in gilt to the spine and upper board, the boards decorated in gilt. Illustrated throughout in black and white throughout by various artists. A good copy, the binding firm although split to the cloth at the rear hinge, the spine somewhat rolled. The contents, with cracking to the inner gutter (the webbing exposed), and some spotting to the early and late pages and occasionally throughout, are otherwise clean and, save for Emanuel's inscription to Sime, free from stamps and inscriptions. An interesting presentation copy.
