A near fine copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping to the spine tips and corners, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very good rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that is creased at the tips of the lightly faded spine. Not price-clipped (£3.50 to the lower front flap). Scarce.

First published in America by Doubleday in the 1955, and in the UK as a paperback original by Panther in 1959, this first British hardcover edition is scarcer than either.
