First UK hardcover edition, first printings. Three volumes. Publisher's original brown, blue and grey cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the David Smee illustrated dustwrappers. A near fine set, the bindings square and firm, with a touch of bumping to the spine tips, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with light spotting to the closed text block, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the ever so lightly creased dustwrappers that are gently (and uniformly) faded to the spines, that of The Farthest Shore with some staining to the underside (not visible on the printed side). None of the dustwrappers are price-clipped (£1.25; £1.25; £1.60 net to the lower front flap respectively). An attractive set.
A beautiful set of Ursula K. Le Guin's multi-award winning work of high fantasy which has been praised by writers such as Margaret Atwood and David Mitchell.
