Second edition. Original ochre yellow cloth boards and white cloth spine, with titles in gilt to the spine. A very good copy, the binding firm with some bumping and minor fraying to the spine tips and corners. The cloth is toned to the spine and a little dusty. The contents are entirely complete and without loose or torn pages, just a few foxing spots to the late pages and some mild offsetting to the endpapers. An attractive example.

The first edition of 830 copies, printed in two batches between 24th January and 8th February 1898, was published 13th February and sold out almost immediately. This second edition of 1000 copies, was issued within a few weeks. (Mason 372).
