TELL ME HOW LONG THE TRAIN'S BEEN GONE

First UK edition, first printing. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding tight and square, the contents clean and bright. The prelims (half-title and the following two leaves) are lightly creased to their outer edges (probably a flaw in the paper stock rather than real creases) but lie flat. The lightly toned wrapper is lightly marked to the rear panel (a few barely visible, light pen marks), with some minimal rubbing to extremities, notably the rear flap which also shows a little offsetting from the page block. Overall, a nice copy.

The author's fourth novel, published the same year in the USA by The Dial Press.
