First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh, lightly rubbed at the spine tips and extremities. The contents are clean throughout, and without inscriptions or stamps. The closed text block is lightly toned and a little spotted to the top edge. Complete with the very good or better, rubbed and creased dustwrapper, which is a little toned to the spine and to the lightly marked rear panel. Not price-clipped (42s net to the lower front flap).
