First UK edition, first printing. Original orange cloth with black titles to the spine, in the Cecil W. Bacon illustrated dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding firm, the board corners and spine tips with some minor bumping. The contents, with a tiny bit of spotting to the text block top edge, a previous owner's bookplate and stamp to the front pastedown and ownership inscription to the title page, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed, creased and nicked original dustwrapper which has some short closed tears to the edges, the longest being 4cm to the top front spine fold, and some chips to the extremities.
