A prequel to Isaac Asimov's epic 'Foundation' series of future history science fictional novels. 'Prelude to Foundation' tells the life story of Hari Seldon, a central figure in the Foundation universe as the inventor of psychohistory, a scientific method of predicting the future. It is followed by a second prequel, 'Forward the Foundation'. The 'Foundation' series was given the one-time Hugo 'Best All-Time Series' award (beating J. R. R. Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings'), and various novels and stories from the series have won nine Hugo, Nebula and Locus awards between them.
