First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the author to Henry Stephens Salt. Publisher's original quarter cream cloth over blue paper-covered boards with titles in gilt to the spine. Fore-edge and bottom edge untrimmed. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little marking to the boards, toning to the spine and wear to the corners. The contents with some light scattered foxing are otherwise in very good order throughout.

Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front free endpaper "To H. S. Salt Esq. / With very kind remembrances from the author." The sole poetry collection of the Sussex author J. Slingsby Roberts, inscribed to fellow author and Brighton resident Henry Stephens Salt (1851-1939), the socialist, pacifist, pioneering author on vegetarianism and animal rights and noted literary scholar.
