OLD MEN IN LOVE JOHN TUNNOCK'S POSTHUMOUS PAPERS

First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original blue cloth with silver decorations and lettering to the front, back and spine, in dustwrapper. A very fine copy, tight and square, without marks or blemishes; bright blue endpapers. Complete with the equally fine dustwrapper, designed and illustrated by the author. Not price-clipped and correctly priced (20.00 net) to the front flap. An immaculate copy.

Signed without dedication to the front free endpaper. Gray's eighth, or ninth, novel (depending upon whether "Mavis Belfrage" (1996) is categorised as a novel or a book of stories) is presented as a found manuscript by one John Tunnock, edited by Gray. The decorative boards reproduce the typography of the jacket with the addition of "ARE STILL LEARNING" completing a sentence beginning with the title. Marginal notes and decorative elements throughout the text are printed in blue (a shade of blue matching the dustwrapper).
