First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Black boards, elaborately decorated in yellow and gold. Housed in a semi-transparent, frosted plastic slipcase, lettered in gold. A fine, tight and square copy. There's a barely noticeable trace of toning to the long edge of the page-block and a two-inch scratch to the top-right of the front panel of the slipcase; otherwise more or less as new, without marks or inscriptions.

Signed by the author without dedication in black ink to the title page. This typically idiosyncratic collection of essays, introductions, obituaries (and other things) is described by the publisher as "an unorthodox autobiography". The black, paper-covered boards are beautifully decorated (front, back and spine) with yellow and gold thistles, each with a small yellow butterfly at its base. Scarce in this slipcased edition.
