An original screenplay based on the beloved weekly comic strip 'Little Nemo in Slumberland' (alternatively titled 'In the Land of Wondrous Dreams') created by American cartoonist Winsor McCay, which originally ran in the New York Herald (1905-11; 1924-27) and the New York American (1911-14). Best known for his classic dystopian novel 'Fahrenheit 451' (1953), in his later career Bradbury consulted on several feature film productions and contributed to screenplay developments, including writing a script for the cult American-Japanese joint venture 'Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland' (1989). An animated musical fantasy film directed by Masami Hata and William Hurtz, 'Little Nemo' was infamous for being in development hell for much of the 1980s and went through a number of screenwriters through the lengthy development process. While Bradbury was ultimately not credited for the screenplay, his version is published here for the first time, with beautiful cover artwork by acclaimed illustrator Charles Vess.
