First edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with silver 'services edition' logo to the upper board and titles to the spine, in the Reginald Perrot illustrated dustwrapper. A good copy, the binding square and firm with some bumping to the extremities, the cloth somewhat marked and mottled. The contents, a little toned and with some spotting to the closed text block edge, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very good rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a few small chips at the spine tips. Not price-clipped (7/6 net to the lower front flap).
The eighth of nine novels to feature the wealthy and eccentric amateur detective Mr Pendlebury. (Hubin).
