First edition, first printing. Shirley Hughes' retained copy, signed by her. Original pictorial boards, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout in black and white by Shirley Hughes. A very good copy, the binding firm, with some marking to the boards, rubbing and slight bumping to the extremities, the head of the spine with a couple of nicks. The contents are clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed, marked and creased dustwrapper which has a few short closed tears to the edges. Not price-clipped (12s 6d to the front flap).
