First edition, first printing. Publisher's original pictorial boards. Illusrated in colour by the author throughout. A very good copy, the binding firm, with some rubbing to the tips of the slightly rolled spine. The contents, with a gift inscription to the front endpaper, a few finger marks and some toning to the page edges, are otherwise clean. Scarce.

The first book in the Mrs Easter series, the second of which 'Mrs Easter and the Storks' won the 1957 Kate Greenaway Medal.
