First edition with these illustrations. Publisher's original olive green cloth illustrated in gilt and black to the upper board, titles and decoration in gilt to the spine. Top edge gilt. Frontispiece and 14 further full page drawings, each with tissue guards, and 33 chapter headings in black and red by Henry Ospovat. A very good copy indeed, the binding square and firm with some bumping and a little rubbing to the extremities, the gilt bright. The contents, a little spotted to the prelims are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps.

A collection of 51 poems by the English poet and playwright Robert Browning, first published in 1855, and here for the first time with illustrations by Henry Ospovat (1877-1909). Scarce in this edition.
