The contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete in the very near fine dustwrapper that has a small scuff to one corner and is otherwise without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped.

Issued in an edition of 500 copies, from which this example is numbered 48, and signed by the editor John Pelan and the cover artists Jim and Ruth Keegan in green and black ink on the colophon. A facsimile of the author Fritz Leiber's signature in black is also present on the colophon. Fritz Leiber (1910-1992) was one of the leading writers in the field of Sword and Sorcery, along with Howard and Moorcock. Through his Fafhrd and Gray Mouser duo he established many tropes of the genre, spreading their adventures over five decades. This collection compiles 33 of Leiber's best science fiction short works, including the 1970 Hugo Award-winning novelette 'Ship of Shadows' (1969) and the 1976 Hugo and Nebula Award-winning short story 'Catch That Zeppelin!' (1975).
