Inscribed by the author / illustrator in black and red ink on the half title "For Ian / love / Ralph Steadman". The recipient Ian Craig was art director at Jonathan Cape, working with Ralph Steadman, from 1973 until 1989 when he moved to Harper Collins. After moving, he continued to work on all Steadman projects at the illustrator's personal request.
