First edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with illustration and titles in red to the upper board and titles in black to the spine, in the Leslie Stead illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and black and white line drawings throughout by Stead. A near fine copy, the binding firm with some minor bumping to the spine tips, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that is just a touch darkened to the spine. The underside has a piece of tape to the upper and lower spine tip (for strengthening). Not price clipped (5/- net to the bottom of the front flap).
