First edition. Limited edition. Signed by the author. Publisher's original black cloth with silver titles to the spine and upper board, with floral silver decoration to both boards, in the black cloth, silver foil illustrated slipcase. White satin bookmark. Illustrated endpapers. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with a little rubbing to the spine tips. The contents, are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. The text block has a touch of spotting, with a thin brown mark to the closed fore-edge, which bleeds into the blank margin of the prelims. Housed in the structurally sound slipcase, which has a couple of small white paint marks to the backstrip.

Issued in an edition of 50 copies, from which this example is numbered 9 and inscribed by David Wingrove on the limitation page 'No new poems his brush will trace; / Even his fame is dead. / His old poems are deep in dust / At the bottom of boxes and cupboards / David Wingrove 10.10.2012'. World Fantasy Award-winning science fiction author David Wingrove's Chung Kuo series was first published between 1988-99, with UK-based imprint Corvus initiating a re-release of the entire saga in 2011. 'Ice and Fire' is the fourth novel in the series.
