First edition, first printing. Original pink cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the John Woodcock designed dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with slight fading to the spine and a faint strip of fading to the top edge of the lower board. The contents, with light offsetting to the endpapers, a previous owners' inscription to the front free endpaper and a couple of spots to the closed text-block edge, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that is toned to the spine and the top of the rear panel. Not price-clipped (7s 6d net to the front flap).
