First cheap edition (or second impression of the April 1934 first printing). The publisher's retained copy. Original red cloth with black titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the contents spotted to the prelims and text block edges and with the publisher's "Archive Copy" stamp to the half-title, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly nicked and creased dustwrapper which is a little toned to the spine and with the publisher's pencilled initial to the upper panel.

Provenance: From the archive of the publisher Victor Gollancz. (Hubin).
