BURMESE INTERLUDE

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original green cloth boards and white titles to the spine, with dustwrapper. Illustrated with 18 black and white photographs and one map. A better than very good copy, the binding tight and square, with light bumping and rubbing to the spine ends, bottom of the board edges and tips. The contents, with some light foxing to the endpaper and occasional spotting throughout, are otherwise free from inscriptions or stamps. The closed textblock is toned and lightly foxed to all edges. Complete with the rubbed, creased and nicked dustwrapper, that is lightly toned and spotted to the panels and spine.

A account of Warren's five years as a Forester in the Burmese Jungle and stories collected from others. He describes 'fights with Pirates, Dacoits and Rebels, the capturing of a greta tusker after a seventeen-day reign of terror, Burmese gatherings, a great ceremonial Kachin dance, the hunting of a killer elephant, and many more incidents of jungle life' (back panel). Scarce with dustwrapper.
