BRITISH KEYBOARD MUSIC TO C. 1660. Sources and Thematic Index.

First edition, first printing. Original black paper-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with very slight bumping at the corners of the upper board and the head of the spine. There is a publisher's 'damaged' stamp to the contents page (although no notable damage is visible other than the mild bumping of the boards), the contents are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that is without fading, loss or tears.

A thorough reference book on early keyboard music offering sources and a thematic index which includes the musical incipit and a list of all known sources, with folio numbers, deviant titles and ascriptions, and modern printed editions.
