First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original dark blue cloth with light blue titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, bright and fresh, with just a little rubbing to the spine tips and extremities. The contents, with the small bookplate of Peter Apap Bologna on the front pastedown, a some toning to the text block, are otherwise clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper, which is without loss or tears. Not price-clipped (£13.95 to the front flap).
Signed by William Boyd in black ink on the title page. The author's fifth novel, winner of the 1990 James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
