First unabridged version in book form and first hardback edition. Original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, in the Steve Hickman illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout in black and white by Hickman. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the foot of the spine with very slight bumping. The contents, with a few minor marks to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that has a short closed tear to the bottom edge of the front panel. Not price-clipped ($15.95 on the front flap).

Issued in a limited edition of 1000 copies. 'Big Planet' was first published in Startling Stories in 1952, and was abridged and published in book form in 1957 by Avalon Books. This edition, with new illustrations by Steve Hickman, restores the original text for the first time.
