First edition, first printing. Deluxe limited edition. Signed by the author. Original black and white leather with gilt titles to the spine, a gilt illustration of a face to the upper board and a gilt motif to the lower board. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the extremities very slightly rubbed, the white portion of the the leather with some slight dustiness. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Scarce in this form.

Issued in a limited edition of just 26 copies, this example in lettered 'P' and is signed by the Fredric Brown and his frequent collaborator Mack Reynolds on the limitation page. On the face of it, an unlikely signed edition given that Brown had passed away in 1972 and Reynolds in 1982, however the signed leaves used in this publication were originally intended for use in the subsequently unreleased subscriber's issue of 'Science-Fiction Carnival' published by Shasta in 1953. 2000 copies in cloth and dustwrapper were also issued, 475 of them signed. A beautifully produced collection of over seventy of Brown's short science fiction, detective and horror stories.
