Uncorrected proof copy of the first UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original illustrated gloss card covers, with titles in white, green and black to the spine and front cover. 14 x 20.5cm. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with a little rubbing to the extremities. The contents, with a few light marks to the closed text block, are otherwise clean throughout and free from inscriptions or stamps. Scarce in this form.

The UK and US uncorrected proofs of the first edition differ, the UK proof bound with an illustrated cover design includes the last chapter 'Postscript', which was printed separately and loosely laid in to the US proof on distribution. Gaiman's acclaimed fantasy novel combines a classic Americana setting with mythological characters from around the world. It won Hugo, Nebula, Locus, and Bram Stoker Awards for best novel, and was adapted for television in 2017.
