Uncorrected proof copy of the first UK edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Inscribed for the multi-award winning fellow author Lavie Tidhar. With the publisher's invitation slip for the celebration of the launch of 'Altered Carbon' loosely laid in. Original white card covers lettered in black to the spine and front panel. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the extremities with a little light rubbing and dustiness. There are a few faint marks to the closed text-block edge and to page 359, the contents are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Scarce in this form.

Inscribed by Richard Morgan in black ink on the title page "To Lavie / Glad you liked it! / Richard [underlined]". An appealing association copy. The author's debut novel, a cyberpunk mystery set in an intergalactic future where humans digitally store their consciousnesses and upload them to to new bodies when they die. The first volume in the 'Takeshi Kovacs' trilogy. Winner of the Philip K. Dick Award for best novel in 2003. It was adapted into a Netflix television series that premiered in 2018, and inspired an animated film that premiered on Netflix in 2020.
