First edition with these illustrations, first printing. Publisher's original blue cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Rene Cloke illustrated dustwrapper. With eight full page colour plates and line drawings tinted in colour throughout the text by Rene Cloke. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents, a little toned and spotted to the blank endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that has several pieces of strengthening tape to the underside and a touch of fading to the spine.
