UNDER THE NET

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original green cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Victor Ross illustrated dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping and a scuff to the spine, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with a couple of spots to the prelims are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The closed text block edge is spotted. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that has a tiny closed tear at the head of the spine and a small area of spotting to the edge of the front flap. Not price-clipped (12s 6d net to the lower front flap). An attractive example.

An attractive example of Iris Murdoch's first novel. Subsequently chosen by Time magazine as one of the one hundred best English language novels since 1923, and by the editors of Modern Library as one of the greatest English language novels of the twentieth century.
