THEATRICAL COMPANION TO NOËL COWARD: A Pictorial Record of the First Performances and Revivals of the Theatrical Works, with and appreciation of Coward's work in the theatre by Terence Rattigan.

First edition, first printing. Signed by Noël Coward. Original black cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in the illustrated dustwrapper. With 172 illustrations. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. There are a couple of light stains to the lower page-block edge. Significant toning to the front free endpaper (probably resulting from a no longer present newspaper cutting). Complete with the rubbed and creased dustwrapper that has a number of nicks and short tears with a little loss to spine tips. Not price-clipped ($10.50 to the front flap).

Signed by Noël Coward in black ink to the front free endpaper. A richly packed and informative guide to Coward's theatrical works, compiled with the full co-operation of the playwright, who provides a prefatory note addressed to the editors, "Having just finished the proofs [...] I must say I am filled with gratitude to you both for the loving care with which you have ferreted out of the past not only everything I can remember having written and composed, but a great deal that I had completely forgotten".
