THE WOMAN ON THE BEAST

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Boris Artzybasheff designed dustwrapper that retains the wraparound band. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping at the spine tips, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents, with spotting to the closed edge of the text block that does not extend internally, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Small paper Australian bookseller's label to the bottom edge of the front pastedown. Complete with the rubbed and nicked price-clipped dustwrapper that is a little dusty bt otherwise attractive and without large loss or tears. The publisher's original wraparound band has a single short closed tear and a small chip to the front fold.

Three linked stories, the last of which is set in Australia in the future (1999). (Bleiler; Blackford, Strange Constellations: A History of Australian Science Fiction p.228)
