THE GENTLEMAN IN THE PARLOUR. A Record of a Journey from Rangoon to Haiphong.

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the upper board and spine, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents, with some spotting to the endpapers and deckled edge of the text block are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper that has a few minor marks and some dustiness to the folds but remains without loss or tears. Not price-clipped (8s. 6d net to the front flap). An attractive example.

The author's second travel book, a tale of his journey through Burma, Indochina and Siam in the 1920's. (Stott A39a).
