TEN BURNT OFFERINGS

First edition, first printing. Original orange cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. There are a few spots to the upper portions of front and rear endpapers and pastedowns, with a touch of spotting visible to the upper edges of the cloth. Complete with the very good dustwrapper, rubbed and nicked to spine tips and corners. Not price-clipped (10s 6d net to the front flap). A presentable copy.

The poet's second post-war collection, a sequence of ten long poems, "a new structure but in the idiom which is only MacNeice's, lyrical, scholarly and colloquial" (from the jacket).
