A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions and stamps. Complete with the near fine dustwrapper, which is bright and fresh, with a touch of creasing at the upper left of the front panel.

Issued in an edition of 300 copies, this example is numbered 145 and signed by the illustrator Harry O. Morris and author of the introduction Steve Rasnic Tem in black ink on the colophon. This edition also includes a bonus short story "Bright Segment" (first published in 1953 by North Atlantic Books, Berkeley CA). Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author and literary critic Theodore Sturgeon (born Edward Hamilton Waldo, 1918-1985) is best known for his 1953 novel 'More Than Human' (Farrar, Straus & Young, New York) and for his enduring friendship with Kurt Vonnegut. Notably, in 1965, Sturgeon's name provided the inspiration for Vonnegut's fictional science-fiction writer Kilgore Trout. Steve Rasnic Tem is a prolific horror author and frequent collaborator of wife and fellow writer Melanie Tem. He has published over 500 short stories in his career and has won numerous Bram Stoker Awards, International Horror Guild Awards, and British Fantasy Awards for his work.
