First edition in book form, first printing. Publisher's original burgundy cloth with gilt titles to the spine and a gilt monogram to the upper board, in dustwrapper. Top edge navy. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Both the book and dustwrapper are the correct first issue: 'first printing' stated on the copyright page; the dustwrapper with '1/66' code on the bottom corner of the front flap and 'Publishers of the American College Dictionary and the Modern Library' on the rear flap.
