Early edition. Original green cloth with black titles and illustrations to the spine and upper board. Lacking the dustwrapper. With eight colour plates and further black and white line drawings throughout by W. H. Walker. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the extremities rubbed, the rear panel lightly marked, the spine toned. There is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endpaper and some offsetting and spotting to the endpapers and prelims, the contents are otherwise clean throughout.

W. H. Walker's beautiful illustrations, which centre on black ink line-work and light washes of colour, offer a unique take on the visual world of 'Alice'.
