The 'Artist' edition, issued in an edition of 1000 copies, signed by the author Thomas Olde Heuvelt and the illustrator Chris Berens in blue ink on the colophon. 'Hex' was first published in the Netherlands by Luitingh-Sjithoff in 2013, the first edition in English was published by Tor Books in 2016. This illustrated edition includes an introduction by 'Bird Box' author Josh Malerman. Chris Berens in a Dutch painter best known for his otherworldy rendering of subjects and his album cover creations for Blondie's 'Panic of Girls' (2011) and Debbie Harry's world tour stage persona.
