Early printing. Contemporary half calf and marbled boards; five raised bands, gilt decorated compartments and titles in gilt on green morocco labels to the spine. All edges marbled. Marbled endpapers. Illustrated with a black and white frontispiece engraving. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the corners and the paper at the board edges a little worn, the rear hinge slightly cracked. The contents, with light offsetting to the title page where it faces the frontispiece and the text block marbling a little faded, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions.
An attractive early edition of Jane Austen's third published novel. (Gilson D11).
