Illustrated with 13 full page illustrations in black and white by George Evans. A fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cover artwork is bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Both volumes are housed in the fine, structurally sound slipcase.

Issued in an edition of 100 copies, this example is numbered 50 and signed by the illustrator Raymond Swanland, author of the introduction Ramsey Campbell, editor Stephen Haffner in black ink and the author Manly Wade Wellman's signature in blue ink tipped in on the limitation page (as issued). 'The Complete John Thunstone' comprises most of the short stories featured in the first volume of Wellman's John Thunstone series 'Lonely Vigils' (Carcosa, 1981) and adds the novels 'What Dreams May Come' (Doubleday, 1983) and 'The School of Darkness' (Doubleday, 1985). An attractive production for fans of the famous occult detective.
