First edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with black titles to the spine, in the Kenneth Farnhill illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding firm with just a touch of bumping at the spine tips, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, toned to the paperstock and with a few light foxing spots to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very good rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a closed tear to the bottom edge of the front panel, is a little faded to the spine and somewhat toned to the rear panel. Issued without a publisher's price on the front flap, for export.
A Hercule Poirot novel. First published in America by Dodd, Mead and Company in February 1952, the British edition was followed in March of the same year. (Hubin; Wagstaff & Poole; Curran, John: The Hooded Gunman).
