First edition, first printing. Publisher's original cream cloth with purple titles to the upper board and spine, in the Elizabeth Wall illustrated dustwrapper. With a colour frontispiece and small black and white illustrations throughout by Elizabeth Wall. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh with just a hint of toning to the board edges. The contents are clean throughout, and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Very light spotting to the text block fore-edge. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked original dustwrapper that has some very mild toning to the spine and panel edges. Not price-clipped (5s. net to the lower front flap).
