Two volumes. First edition, first printing. Limited edition. Original quarter black morocco with brown leather boards. Housed in the original brown and black cloth-covered slipcase. The first volume is illustrated throughout in colour and black and white, and the second, slim volume consists of black and white photographic portraits of H. P. Lovecraft and black and white photographs by J. K. Potter. A better the very good copy, the binding square and tight, the soft brown leather with some wear and small indentations to the edges, apparently due to an unfortunate choice of binding material rather than heavy use, as the black spines remain pristine. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. The slipcase is in near fine condition, a little marked to the inside from the flaking board surface.
Limited to 300 copies. A very large collection of stories, collaborations and essays, accompanied by a volume of photographic portraits of Lovecraft, described by the publisher as "the largest such collection of pictures ever assembled in one volume", and photographs by J. K. Potter of Providence, Rhode Island, Lovecraft's hometown. The third title in Centipede Press' much loved 'Masters of the Weird Tale' series.
